Ethnopharmacology Study of Plants from Atlantic Forest with Leishmanicidal Activity

Table 1

Leishmanicidal activity of EtOH and n-hexane extracts were assayed against promastigote and amastigote forms of L. (L.) amazonensis. Cytotoxicity was analyzed using J774 macrophage cell lineage. EC50 = effective contraction 50%; CC50 = cytotoxic concentration 50%; SIp = selectivity index towards promastigote forms; SIa = selectivity index towards amastigote forms.
