Hepatoprotective Effects of the <i>Cichorium intybus</i> Root Extract against Alcohol-Induced Liver Injury in Experimental Rats

<div>Effects of Cii on the expression of CYP2E1 in liver tissues of alcohol-induced rats. Expression of CYP2E1 in liver tissues was examined by western blot. The relative expression of CYP2E1 protein was normalized to that of <i>β</i>-actin. CON: distilled water, EtOH: 40% EtOH, 2.5 mL/kg, ECL: EtOH + Cii low concentration, 2 mg/kg, ECH: EtOH + Cii high concentration, 10 mg/kg, and ES: EtOH + silymarin, 100 mg/kg. The results were an average of 4 similar experiments, expressed as mean ± S.E.M.
