Synthesis of Isopropyl Ferulate Using Silica-Immobilized Lipase in an Organic Medium

Effect of selected metal ions on the synthesis of isopropyl ferulate. The silica-bound lipase pre-exposed to the selected salt ions prepared in Tris buffer (0.05 M; pH 8.5) for 1 h at 45°C was used to achieve esterification of isopropanol and ferulic acid (100 mM : 25 mM) in DMSO at 45°C under shaking in 3 h.
