(a) Immature DCs were not matured, matured with MF or with 1 × 105 cfu of viable L. lactis, L. lactisIL-10 , L. lactisIL-10/α-IL-10, or L. lactisIL-10 /rat IgG1 in the presence of MF. Mature DCs were harvested after 48 hours, washed, and restimulated (2 × 104 cells in 200 μL) for 48 hours with CD40L transfected irradiated hybridoma cells to assess IL-10 production or in combination with IFN-γ to asses IL-12p70 production. Mean values with standard error of mean are given; * indicates and **indicates using heteroscedastic Student t-test.
