Advances in Therapeutic Endoscopy
Description
Endoscopy has dramatically changed the practice of gastroenterology and indeed medicine in general. Beyond its diagnostic capabilities, gastrointestinal endoscopy is now increasingly embodied by therapeutic and other advanced interventional procedures. This continuous evolution of the spectrum of endoscopy represents an active area of ongoing research and clinical care with tremendous biomedical potential.
To encourage and promote dissemination of recent developments in therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy, we invite investigators to contribute original research as well as review manuscripts which examine the current state of the art. In this special issue, manuscripts related to topics pertaining to advances in therapeutic endoscopy will be welcomed.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- Pancreatobiliary disease (e.g., ERCP, EUS, and cholangioscopy)
- Gastrointestinal bleeding/hemostasis
- Luminal stenting
- Endoscopic mucosal resection and submucosal dissection
- Endoscopic ablative therapies (e.g., RFA and PDT)
- Combined/hybrid endoscopic-surgical techniques
