Advances in Endoscopic Stenting 2021

This issue is now closed for submissions.

Description

Endoscopy has dramatically changed the practice of gastroenterology and indeed medicine in general over the last several decades. Among the many noteworthy advancements in endoscopy are those in endoscopic stenting. What was once a procedure with a very limited number of options with regard to accessories, techniques, and indications/applications, endoscopic stenting has become a substantial and integral part of advanced endoscopy and multidisciplinary management of benign as well as malignant conditions from esophagus to rectum, the pancreatobiliary system, and beyond. In addition, the field of endoscopic stenting continues to evolve, as novel stents and deployment platforms are developed, tested, and approved, thus continuing to expand the potential and armamentarium of minimally-invasive solutions to a wide variety of clinical disorders.

To address this exciting and growing area in advanced endoscopy, we invite investigators to contribute original research manuscripts, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, case series, as well as other article types which examine the current state and horizon of endoscopic stenting.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Esophageal, gastroduodenal, and colorectal luminal stenting for obstructive processes, leaks, hemostasis, and other indications
  • Pancreatobiliary disorders, including benign strictures, malignant strictures, post-liver transplantation strictures, primary sclerosing cholangitis, and IgG4-related disease
  • Endoscopic ultrasound-guided stenting
  • Biodegradable stents, drug-eluting stents, and prototype through-the-scope stents
  • Head-to-head comparisons with non-endoscopic treatment modalities
  • Miscellaneous and ad hoc applications of endoscopic stenting
