Intraintestinal and Extraintestinal Associated Manifestations of Gastrointestinal Diseases: A Diagnostic Imaging Up-to-Date Review

Call for Papers

Inflammatory bowel diseases represent a group of internal disorders with a chronic and relapsing inflammation of the gut and a potential risk of systemic involvement of other organs and systems. Approaching these patients is complex and multidisciplinary. The aim of this paper is to give a review of literature regarding the main intraintestinal and extraintestinal manifestation of gastrointestinal diseases providing the latest information for a correct diagnosis and appropriate management.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • MRI enterography and US in the study of the small bowel Chron’s disease: state of the art and review of the literature
  • Hepatopancreatobiliary manifestations of inflammatory bowel diseases
  • Lung manifestations in IBD
  • Acute abdomen in ulcerative colitis and Chron’s disease
  • Tumor risk in long-term follow-up patients with inflammatory bowel diseases
  • MRI enterography: review of the literature
  • Diffusion-weighted and perfusion MR imaging for evaluating inflammatory bowel disease: review of the literature
