PET Imaging of Epigenetic Influences on Alzheimer’s Disease

The difference is that the patient on the left has mild cognitive impairment and demonstrates little retention of [18F]florbetaben, while the patient on the right has Alzheimer’s disease and demonstrates high cortical [18F]florbetaben retention. This retention is represented in the standard pattern seen in AD: highest levels are retained in the posterior cingulate region as well as the frontal and temporal cortices ([59], reprinted with permission).
