Wideband Analysis of Mutual Coupling Compensation Methods

Figure 10

Array gain as a function of the electrical separation ( ) between the elements of the nine-dipole planar array for a signal arriving from and using the various mutual coupling compensation methods. Maximum gain is achieved for using the full-wave and receiving mutual impedance methods (RMI). The performance of the two methods degrades as frequency increases. The RMI method is slightly superior to the full-wave method for the plotted frequencies. For , the open-circuit method is superior to all the other methods.
