High-Performance Computing and Engineering Applications in Electromagnetics

Description

As the continuously increasing demand of computing power in computational electromagnetics, high-performance computing becomes a topic of great importance and extensive interests, in recent years, a lot of work has been done to improve the computational efficiency by either improving the electromagnetic numerical method itself (for example, using unstructured mesh, higher-order basis functions, etc.), speeding up the direct or iterative solution, or using parallel programming techniques. There is still much work to be done in this field. The main focus of this special issue will be on the high-performance computing in electromagnetics. The special issue will become an international forum for researches and engineers to summarize and present the most recent developments and new techniques in the field, with a special emphasis given to the new techniques and results obtained within the last five years. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Parallel computing (MPI, OpenMP) and graphics processing unit (GPU)
  • Optimization techniques
  • Fast integral equation methods (fast multiple method, precorrected-FFT method, adaptive integral method, adaptive cross-approximation algorithm , etc.)
  • Fast differential equation methods (finite difference method, finite element method, domain decomposition method, etc.)
  • Fast frequency sweep methods
  • Frequency domain methods
  • Time domain methods
  • Hybrid methods (low-frequency/high-frequency methods)
  • Matrix equation solver
  • Applications of high-performance computing in electromagnetics

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijap/guidelines/.
