(a) The FTIR spectra confirmed that the hydrocarbon (dichloromethane soluble part) mainly contained hydrocarbon. (b) The TGA spectra showed that the sample lost around: (a) 22% of its original weight at 100°C, which represents moisture and volatile hydrocarbons; and (b) 2.6% of its weight from 100°C to 250°C representing heavy hydrocarbons.
