Quantifying Changes in the Cellular Thiol-Disulfide Status during Differentiation of B Cells into Antibody-Secreting Plasma Cells

Cell density does not affect protein thiol-disulfide status in resting B cells. Experiments were performed on two independent cultures. (a) Growth curve of 1.29μ + lymphoma cells cultured in suspension as described in [13]. Each day a fraction of the culture was harvested for global quantification of the thiol-disulfide status, as illustrated in Figure 1. The graph shows cell densities at the times of sample preparation. (b) Distribution of protein sulfhydryl equivalents in samples harvested on days 1–4.
