^*For the tumor cell injection, each mouse was subcutaneously inoculated with CD44v3^highALDH1^high cells or CD44v3^lowALDH1^high cells or CD44v3^lowALDH1^low cells or unsorted cells with 5,000 cells, 500 cells, or 50 cells as described in the Section 2. The values expressed in the Table 1 represent the number of animals developed tumors/total number of animals used in the study. The tumor formation assay was performed on at least 5 different experiments with a standard deviation less than ±5%.
