Multidisciplinary and integrative clinical management has emerged as a novel paradigm for clinicians. The core content of multidisciplinary, integrative, and precise diagnosis and treatment mainly involves the handling of a specific disease and an organic combination of the management of coexistent systematic problems. In recent years, cutting-edge technologies in molecular biology, artificial intelligence, medical materials, immunotherapy, and bioinformatics have been gradually applied to the research field of integrative precise diagnosis and treatment, providing great progress in clinical diagnosis and treatment planning and process for various diseases, especially in the field of age-related diseases.
The methodology of multidisciplinary, integrative, and precise diagnosis and treatment helps specialists extract the main causes from a large amount of clinical data and establish an efficient and comprehensive treatment plan. Also considered is the possibility of dynamic changes in certain diseases and bias brought about by judgement preference, thereby helping to greatly reduce both systematic and non-systematic errors. Various cutting-edge technologies can be seamlessly integrated into the diagnosis and treatment of various age-related diseases, which has obvious advantages for improving diagnosis and treatment, which in turn contributes to a better prognosis. However, due to the complexity and variability of age-related diseases, it is still very difficult to conduct multidisciplinary, integrative, and precise programs for these diseases, and the application of various new technologies also poses challenges.
The aim of this Special Issue is to collect original research and review articles from scholars focused on multidisciplinary, integrative, and precise diagnosis and treatment in age-related diseases.
