Modelling with Evolution Equations in Industrial and Environmental Fluid/Solid Mechanics

Call for Papers

Numerous mathematical and computational fluid/solid mechanics models have been developed to gain insights into many hydrodynamic systems. These models have helped us to describe and understand some of the complex phenomena occurring in the systems. However, often good predictions are for limited times, particularly in situations where nonlinearities are significant. Improved understanding of transport phenomena and evolution processes in such systems will be valuable.

This special issue is devoted to the publication of fundamental and applied studies mainly relating to modelling with evolution in the industrial and environmental fluid/solid mechanics. Within this scope, the subject areas are diverse and may arise from a wide range of engineering and scientific disciplines: civil, mechanical, environmental, and silo engineering, hydrology, limnology, and oceanography.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Transport and dispersion of environmental contamination
  • Liquid flow and liquid-gas flow in engineering and in biological processes
  • Structural engineering of silos, industrial silo optimization, and granular flow in silos
  • Groundwater and surface water modelling
  • Agricultural hydrosalinity modelling
  • Limnological models
  • Oceanographic models and marine ecosystem modelling
