Coexpression of MCHR1 with -arrestin 1 or 2 enhances MCH-mediated receptor internalization. BHK cells were cotransfected with 1 g each plasmids encoding VSVg-MCHR1 and (a) GFP -arrestin 1 or (b) GFP -arrestin 2 or GFP control plasmid (both (a) and (b)). The loss of MCHR1 from the plasma membrane in response to 1 M MCH was measured using a modified cell-based ELISA protocol. Background signal from mock-transfected cells was subtracted.
