AMPK Activation Mediated by Hinokitiol Inhibits Adipogenic Differentiation of Mesenchymal Stem Cells through Autophagy Flux

Hinokitiol inhibits adipocyte differentiation through the AMPK pathway in mesenchymal stem cells. MSCs were incubated with hinokitiol at various concentrations (2.5, 5, and 10 μM) following treatment with MDI, and Western blot for LC3 and p62 proteins was analyzed (a). MSCs in the presence of compound C or AICAR for 1 h were incubated with 10 μM of hinokitiol, following treatment with MDI. LC3 and p62 proteins were detected by Western blot analysis (b). β-Actin was used as loading control. The cells were immunostained with DAPI (blue) and p62 antibody (green) and observed in fluorescent view (c).
