Detrended correspondence analysis of macroinvertebrates from soil core samples. Each point represents the position in ordination space of the macroinvertebrate community detected at one sampling point. The two axes show the relative position of each point in the multidimensional space defined by the macroinvertebrate orders found at each point. Thus, points with similar macroinvertebrate taxa cluster together on the graph. The first axis is the one along which most of the variation in the ordination space is arranged (eigenvalue = 0.30); the second axis is the second most important axis through the ordination space (eigenvalue = 0.165).
