Potential/time programmes used in polypyrrole layer growth. Potential sweep in 0.1 M SDS, 0.1 M Py solution from Ec = 0.04 V to Ea followed by a holding time at Ea and consecutive cathodic scan to Ec. Scan rate 100 mV/s. The different curves show the evolution of current/potential/time profiles for successive cycling using either (a) Ea = 1.4 V with = 15 s or (b) Ea = 1.2 V with = 20 s.
