Electrochemical aptasensor based on the binding-induced folding of aptamers. In the absence of thrombin, the aptamer is largely unfolded, allowing for frequent collisions between the terminal redox moiety and the electrode. Upon target binding, the aptamer folds, enhancing electron transfer and producing a signal-on aptasensor.
