For PWVReal the fixed unique threshold proposed by Boutouyrie et al. (9.6 m/s) was included [3]. Note that the fixed threshold of PWV = 12 m/s or 9.6 m/s determines an underestimation and overestimation to detect preclinical arterial wall damage in young and old subjects, respectively. Underestimation or overestimation would differ depending on the subjects’ age and the algorithm used to assess PWV.
