A Review of the Updated Pharmacophore for the Alpha 5 GABA(A) Benzodiazepine Receptor Model

Figure 19

Hippocampal (HPC) infusion of SH-053-2′F-R-CH3 (1 μM/side; patterned bars) normalizes the aberrant increase in the number of spontaneously firing dopamine neurons (expressed as cells/track) in methylazoxymethanol acetate- (MAM-) treated animals (a). There was no effect of SH-053-2′F-R-CH3 treatment in control animals (open bars, (a)–(c)) or on firing rate in MAM animals (dark bars; (b)). Hippocampal (HPC) infusion of SH-053-2′F-R-CH3 significantly reduced the percentage of spikes occurring in bursts of dopamine (DA) neurons in MAM and control animals (c) (, two-way ANOVA, Holm-Sidak post hoc; rats/group) [2738].
