Fuzzy Logic-Based Techniques for Modeling the Correlation between the Weld Bead Dimension and the Process Parameters in MIG Welding

Table 2

Differences and similarities of six approaches.

Approach  1It deals with conventional Mamdani type FLC of fixed structure. A GA is used to tune RB and DB of the manually constructed FLC. Accuracy in predictions has been considered as the fitness of a GA-string.

Approach  2Conventional Mamdani type FLC of fixed structure has been dealt. A GA is utilized for automatic design of DB and RB of the FLC. Accuracy in predictions has been considered as the fitness of a GA-string.

Approach  3It deals with Hierarchical FLC of fixed structure. A GA has been used to tune RB and DB of the manually constructed HFLC. Accuracy in predictions has been considered as the fitness of a GA-string.

Approach  4Hierarchical FLC of fixed structure has been dealt. A GA is utilized for automatic design of DB and RB of the HFLC. The fitness of a GA-string is calculated as the accuracy in predictions.

Approach  5An FLC of variable structure (may vary from HFLC to conventional FLC) has been considered in this approach. A GA has been used for structure optimization and automatic design of FLC. Accuracy in predictions has been considered as the fitness of a GA-string.

Approach  6It is the same with Approach  5, but both accuracy in predictions and compactness of the structure have been considered as the fitness of a GA-string.
