Application of Bioluminescence Imaging for In Vivo Monitoring of Fungal Infections

Bioluminescence imaging of invasive aspergillosis. The depicted mouse was immunosuppressed with cortisone acetate and infected intranasally with the bioluminescent A. fumigatus strain C3. Bioluminescence was acquired 28 h after infection. Light emission is detected from both lung lobes indicating the establishment of bronchopulmonary aspergillosis. (Figure kindly provided by O.
