Low-Cost Photovoltaic Systems

Call for Papers

The world’s cumulative photovoltaic capacity and solar farms are expanding rapidly. The world is witnessing a wide spectrum of photovoltaic applications and an enormous development in solar energy harvesting power plants. The use of solar energy and photovoltaic is expected to expand further due to the many improvements in these technologies which improve operational lifetimes and reliability. However, it is well known that PV systems, in general, suffer from two main problems: land area needed for the PV system and the storage batteries. The cost of land can be avoided by implementing the PV system in areas that cannot be used for any other business (dead areas), and to avoid the use of batteries, in this case the PV system needs to be as close as possible to the utility grid (on-grid PV system).

We would like to invite researchers to submit their contributions to this special issue. In this special issue, we aim to bring together an up-to-date view of all past and current developments in the field, with special attention to the most recent experimental and theoretical findings on implementing PV systems at low cost, avoiding the costs of land and storage batteries. We hope you can join us in this special issue by contributing original research articles on this topic.
