“Next-Generation” Solar Cells

Call for Papers

“Next-generation” solar cells, such as solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), organic photovoltaics (OPV), quantum dot solar cells (QDSCs), and perovskite solar cells (PSCs), have emerged as the most promising technologies for low cost alternatives to replace silicon-based solar cells in recent years. With all forms of energy harvesting, conversion, storage, and utilization, this research issue concerns so many scientific fields, ranging from chemistry and materials to physics and engineering.

This special issue accepts review articles as well as original research articles containing theoretical and experimental research on all aspects of “next-generation” solar cells-related research results, and this issue will provide significant new advances or research in “next-generation” solar cells topics.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Light harvesting systems including photosensitizers, polymers, and quantum dots
  • Organic and inorganic heterojunction solar cell devices
  • Various perovskite materials
  • Organic and inorganic hole or electron transporting materials
  • Theoretical calculation
  • Interfacial charge carrier dynamics
