TiO2 Photocatalytic Materials

Description

Recently, the research and development of photocatalytic materials has attracted increasing attention because of its potentials in solving global energy and environmental problems. Among various semiconductor photocatalysts, titania is the most important photocatalyst because of its biological and chemical inertness, nontoxicity, cost effectiveness, and strong oxidizing power under UV and visible light irradiation. However, the photocatalytic activity of titania must be further enhanced from the viewpoint of practical use and commerce.

To achieve this purpose, we invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to understand fabrication of highly active TiO2 photocatalytic materials, the effects of specific surface areas and crystallization on photocatalytic activity, characterization of hierarchical porous structures, and the enhanced mechanisms of photocatalytic activity. We are particularly interested in articles describing the new methods for fabrication of novel morphological TiO2, nanoporous and nanostructured TiO2, and recent developments in both experimental and theoretical aspects and technological applications. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Recent developments in fabrication methods of TiO2
  • Surface modification of TiO2
  • Development of novel TiO2 photocatalytic materials
  • Nanostructured and nanoporous TiO2 photocatalytic materials
  • Characterization of TiO2 photocatalysts
  • Electronic properties of TiO2 photocatalysts
  • Photoelectrochemistry of TiO2
  • TiO2 application in environmental purification
  • TiO2 application in hydrogen production

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijp/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/ according to the following timetable:
