Bacterial Exopolysaccharides as Reducing and/or Stabilizing Agents during Synthesis of Metal Nanoparticles with Biomedical Applications

General representation of EPSs as a reducing and stabilizer agent to produce metal nanoparticles. Metal ions can be coordinated by the functional groups of the exopolysaccharide. Then, the metal can be reduced either by the exopolysaccharide or a different reducing agent. Once the nuclei was formed, it can grow stabilized by the microbial exopolysaccharide.
