Rotating Machinery in Renewable Energy Systems
Description
Rotating machinery is used today extensively in many industrial applications such as renewables like wind energy, marine, power, and oil industries. Due to this huge industry use of rotating machinery and the continuous growing of this industry, professionals and engineers with wide rotating machinery knowledge are required to satisfy the community needs in rotating machinery applications. Hence, there is a need for open discussion and demonstration of latest progress in sustainable and renewable energy such as wind and wave energy.
This special issue will focus on using rotating machinery in renewable energy systems where there is real lack of knowledge on how to improve the performance of such systems. This issue accepts high quality articles containing original research results as well as review papers about using rotary machinery in renewable energy systems.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- Theory of wind turbines
- Theory of air turbines for wave energy
- Optimal design of wind turbine blades
- Economic impact of rotary machinery use on renewable energy systems
- Power plant hydrogenerators
- Axial flow hydraulic turbine
- Turbulence model for wind turbine simulation
- Francis turbines
- Transonic axial compressor rotor
