Spectroscopy with Applications in Agriculture

Call for Papers

Over the past decades, spectroscopy techniques, such as Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR), Mid Infrared Spectroscopy (MIR), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMRS), Terahertz (THz) spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI), have been rapidly developed and widely applied in agriculture. Researches with respect to spectroscopic applications in agriculture have been reported. However, with the rapid development of modern industry, spectroscopy techniques are continually confronted by challenges from new technology in recent application scenarios. Therefore, this special issue aims to explore emerging research topics, bridge the gap between spectroscopic community and other research areas, and trigger live discussions among investigators who are working on spectroscopy techniques and related researches.

We encourage investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to promote both the development of spectroscopy technology and its applications in agriculture. Particularly, we are interested in articles describing new spectroscopic theory and new data analysis methods, as well as new applications in agriculture.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Nondestructive quality inspection of food and agricultural products
  • Plant phenotyping
  • New spectral data analysis methods in agriculture
  • Soil analysis and macronutrients sensing
  • Feed industry analysis
  • Spectroscopic methods in precision agriculture
  • Crop disease diagnosis and yield estimation

Authors can submit their manuscripts through the Manuscript Tracking System at
