for age, gender, alcohol status, previous cigarette smoking, BMI, waist-hip ratio, diabetes, hypertension, and total cholesterol. All the angiogenic growth factors were logarithmically transformed to improve skewness before analysis. Ang-1: angiopoietin 1; Ang-2: angiopoietin 2; VEGF: vascular-endothelial growth factor; Ang-1/2: angiopoietin 1/angiopoietin 2 ratio.
