SDS-PAGE gelatin zymography and Western blotting after gelatin affinity chromatography. Plasma samples from db/+ (Control) and db/db (Diabetes) mice were subjected to gelatin affinity chromatography followed by SDS-PAGE gelatin zymography (a) and Western blotting (b). Western blotting was performed with an antibody against MMP-2 on the flow through fraction (F1) and the fractions eluted with 5% DMSO (A1 and A2) from the affinity column. The migration of standard S1 (as in Figure 1) and the pro-MMP-2 standard is shown at the left of panel A and B, respectively.
