Quantum Hall effect in bilayer graphene. As in the case of the monolayer, the quantum Hall effect in graphene bilayer shows no plateau at 𝜈 = 0 , indicating the presence of an LL at zero carrier density and the relativistic behavior of the bilayer. However, contrarily to the monolayer, the 𝑁 = 0 level is 8-fold degenerate as the height of the step indicates. This is consistent with the theoretical prediction of a “parabolic Dirac point’’ at 𝜈 = 0 , that is, massive Dirac fermions. Figure from [111].
