Adiponectin Fails in Improving Angiogenic Repair in Streptozocin-Treated or L e p r d b / d b Mice after Hind Limb Ischemia

Figure 5

Effects of adiponectin on endothelial cell differentiation into tube-like structures at 5 mmol/L, 10 mmol/L, and 30 mmol/L glucose. (a) Tube formation assays were performed. Representative cultures are shown as indicated. Adiponectin was used at a concentration of 30 μg/mL. (b) HUVECs were seeded on Matrigel-coated culture dishes in control medium (= 0.5% FCS) (= control), induced by VEGF (= 10 ng/mL), in 5 mmol/L glucose medium, 10 mmol/L glucose medium, and 30 mmol/L glucose medium or in 5 mmol/L, 10 mmol/L, and 30 mmol/L glucose in the presence of adiponectin (30 μg/mL). Incubation with VEGF served as additional control. Results are shown as mean ± S.E. Results are expressed relative to control. * 𝑃 < 0 . 0 1 , # 𝑃 < 0 . 0 5 versus control.
