ESI(-)-MS monitoring of the electrochemical treatment of a solution of ethinylestradiol (100 mg L−1 in water/methanol 7 : 3 v/v at pH 2 with no addition of NaCl 250 mg L−1). Aliquots were withdrawn at the following reaction times: (a) 0 min; (b) 60 min; (c) 120 min. Note that the intensity of the anion of m/z 295 (deprotonated ethynilestradiol) stays practically constant as the reaction proceeds.
