DLK1 Protein Expression during Mouse Development Provides New Insights into Its Function

DLK1 protein expression in the developing adrenal gland. ((a)–(d)) They show sections of ED10, -13, -16, and -18 adrenal gland. The ED10 adrenal gland anlage shows diffuse DLK1-positive staining, whereas the neighbouring mesonephros (k) is negative for DLK1. On ED13 and afterwards, DLK1 protein expression becomes restricted to central part of the adrenal gland (adrenal medulla; arrow in (b)). The developing kidney remains negative at all-time points.
