The TCA shapes versus the scattering angles for the same two detectors. Each TCA consists of two symmetrically circular arcs. The inner to the outer arcs correspond to scattering angles of 0, 30, 60, 90, 120, and 150 degrees, respectively. When the scattering angle is smaller than 90 degrees, the TCA is made up of two minor arcs; when the scattering angle is 90 degrees, the TCA is a circle; when the scattering angle is larger than 90 degrees, the TCA is made up of two major arcs. As the area encompassed by the TCA increases with scattering angle, the ability to accurately determine the annihilation position decreases.
