Intracisternally Injected L-Proline Activates Hypothalamic Supraoptic, but Not Paraventricular, Vasopressin-Expressing Neurons in Conscious Rats

Changes in arterial blood pressure and heart rate following intracisternal injection of L-proline or ACSF. The arterial blood pressure increased, but the mean heart rate decreased, 5–30 min after an intracisternal injection of L-proline in freely moving rats. One-way ANOVA showed a significant difference (𝑃<0.005) in the heart rate of the L-proline-treated group, but no specific times were detected by Dunnett’s test when control value was “before.” Results are presented as means ± SE. **𝑃<0.01 and *𝑃<0.05 by one-way ANOVA followed by Dunnett’s test.
