: Effect of light intensity on spermine-induced root abscission in A. pinnata. Root abscission is represented as % of the initial number of roots following addition of 2 mM spermine at time zero. Experiments were conducted under high light, 250 μmol m⁻²s⁻¹ (𝑛=9); ambient light, 5 μmol m⁻² s⁻¹ (𝑛=3) and dark condition, 0.01 μmol m⁻²s⁻¹ (𝑛=6). Standard error bars are only shown where larger than the symbols used. Assays were conducted in 10 mM potassium phosphate solution (pH 7).
