Polyamine-Induced Rapid Root Abscission in Azolla pinnata

: Effect of light intensity on spermine-induced root abscission in A. pinnata. Root abscission is represented as % of the initial number of roots following addition of 2 mM spermine at time zero. Experiments were conducted under high light, 250 μmol  m 2 s 1 ( 𝑛 = 9 ); ambient light, 5 μmol m−2 s−1 ( 𝑛 = 3 ) and dark condition, 0.01 μmol  m 2 s 1 ( 𝑛 = 6 ). Standard error bars are only shown where larger than the symbols used. Assays were conducted in 10 mM potassium phosphate solution (pH 7).
