Taurine concentrations in the liver and brain. The livers (a) and brains (b) at PD1 in each group were homogenized with 5% TCA and centrifuged at 10,000 g for 20 min. The supernatants were collected and dried using a Speedvac. Dried samples were derivatized using PITC. PITC labeled taurine was determined using HPLC. Data are expressed as moles/g wet tissue weight, mean SE in (a) the liver and (b) the brain. * is statistically significant, compared to WT. # is statistically significant, compared to G3 HO and G4 HO.
