Steady-state vertical temperature profile predicted by FEM. Each curve shows the temperature along a vertical line that crosses through the chip. Such a line is placed at a defined distance from the centre. The legend shows the radial distance in millimetres. The horizontal axis represents the vertical distance from the bottom to the top of the chip, which is 2.454 mm thick. As the distance from the center increases from 2.5 to 5 mm, the curves flattened out towards 22°C. The temperatures in the top glass plate (right side of the curves) are almost constant.
