Patient Characteristics Can Influence the Incidence of Perioperative Microemboli during Carotid Artery Interventions

<div>Schematic of the patient population that was included in the study data analysis. From June 2004 to December 2010 a total of 303 patients received a carotid intervention at our institution. Of these patients, 288 patients met study inclusion criteria. CEA was performed in 171 patients, and CAS was performed in the remaining 117 patients.</div>
