Lateral root number and lateral root density were determined after 12 days of culture. Arabidopsis seedlings were grown on media containing 1 μM P O 4 3 or 1 mM P O 4 3 or on the same media supplemented with 100–500 μM ASC. Seedlings of vtc1 mutant were grown on medium containing either 1 μM P O 4 3 or 1 mM P O 4 3 . Data represent mean and standard deviation. *Significant differences from control with 𝑃 < 0 . 0 5 .
