LearnerI think it would be really useful in small groups and with really uh sort of directed activities and probably a best an interactive one and not a didactic lecture.
Participant 19
We could have more things, like if we have conferences or if we could have seminars and that stuff on it.  Participant 2

I mean I guess everything really comes down to distance. It’s always going to be easier using this than drive down to where you need to be.
Participant 29
… so if there for example you could get some sort of computer program which you could be working on the same time and drawing on that, you know?
What you draw and they see at their end and you can edit and do each other’s diagrams at the same time.
Participant 21
… and I could hear the words like she was right in front of us.
Participant 2
The quality and terms of the visual and the audio is a lot better and it’s a lot easier to, yeah hear the other person converse quite easily.
Participant 1
And with facial expression, when you see people, one person talking with their facial expressions you can understand better.
Participant 2

The camera isn’t adjustable in terms of the height if you have got variable height people it was very hard to adjust that.
Participant 21
… of course with technology there are going to be issues with it, keeping it maintained.
Participant 13

FacultyI would not want to replace the opportunity for face to face in-person teaching, but I see this as an adjunct, as something that can be offered in a suite of educational opportunities.
Participant 9
It's a little bit about developing a community of practice as well because I think that we learn in groups and if we can provide, we learn through interactions and if we can provide more opportunities for interactions, particularly with experts, then that's a really important community of practice that we, I think should be promoting. So technology facilitates that.
Participant 9
… the one limitation I really felt was that I couldn’t write on the board and that I wasn’t able to use visual aids as much. That was a severe limitation and for my teaching style I need to have that flexibility.
Participant 25

I think it would be advantageous to have that little screen where you can see what they're seeing.
Participant 3
I like the closeness of it. So I thought that is, that has over other video equipment and the screen was really quite big which was, which was good and the fact that you actually can have that my presentation on the screen. That was magic.
Participant 25
We have a few issues today with the volume at which we were speaking, the other end seemed to… You have to be conscious of the level that you speak at.
Participant 23
You’ve got such a good picture it is almost like talking to someone over the table.
Participant 14

TelePresence can provide a little bit of a barrier, but that barrier can be helpful when you're dealing with sensitive issues, so it can facilitate learning—because it can be quite threatening if we're sitting talking about very personal attributes.  Participant 3
There are challenges because the infrastructure is more expensive and we don't have it in as many locations.
