Supplementary Material

Washing step of the leukocyte adherence inhibition test: after remaining for 2 hours at 37ºC in a humidified atmosphere to allow leukocyte adherence, the cells are counted and the Neubauer hemocytometer chambers are immersed into a beaker with PBS at 37ºC, the coverslip is removed and replaced by a clean one. The remaining cells are counted again on the same hemocytometer squares as examined before washing.
