Functionalized Nanocomposites for Environmental Applications

Description

During the last decades, the use of functionalized nanocomposites with nanoscale precision represents one of the most important bottom-up approaches for nanotechnology and has become a major issue in the field of environmental chemistry. The chemical functionalization and self-assemblies of nanocomposites and subsequent environmental applications of well-defined micro-/nanostructures have multiple important impacts upon various areas. In this sense, the sophisticated nanocomposites with multiple components have deepened the insight of nanomaterials and enriched the content of environmental chemistry.

In this special issue, we invite the submission of original research articles as well as review articles that focus on the functionalized process and environmental applications of nanomaterials and nanocomposites in wide fields. We are particularly interested in articles describing new nanostructured materials/composites and the regulation of their interesting properties. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of multidimensional nanocomposites materials containing functionalized hybrid nanostructures
  • Synthesis, processing, and functionalization of nanostructured materials
  • Characterization of nanostructured materials and nanocomposites by chemically modified methods under various conditions
  • Applications of functionalized nanocomposites in the fields of sewage purification, hydrogen generation, and energy storage
  • Functionalized nanocomposites for antibacterial applications
  • Novel biocompatible and biodegradable nanocomposites
  • Photocatalytic nanocomposites for disinfection and other environmental applications
  • Evaluation of environmental risks in process of nanotechnology for environmental applications
  • Research progress of novel functionalized nanocomposites for environmental applications in focus (quantum dot, graphene, etc.)
