Induction of IL-10 by supplemented HA hydrogels in vitro. (a) Schematic for the design of a hydrogel capable of delivering a TCR stimulus in association with an HA signal. The “supplemented HA hydrogel” incorporates a crosslinked matrix of thiolated high molecular weight (HMW)-HA, HS, and collagen to which we have added streptavidin and biotinylated anti-CD3 and anti-CD28 antibodies (b-CD3, b-CD28) to deliver an activating signal through the TCR.
