Effects of Fenofibrate on Adiponectin Expression in Retinas of Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats

The evaluation of mRNA levels of adiponectin, adipoR1, and adipoR2 in rat retinas by semiquantitative PCR. The mRNA levels of adiponectin, adipoR1, and adipoR2 increased in retinas of the DM group. Fenofibrate decreased the levels of adiponectin, adipoR1, and adipoR2 relative to the levels observed in the DM group. The -axis represents the ratios of adiponectin, adipoR1, and adipoR2 mRNA to β-actin mRNA in each group. The sample was pooled from one eye of five rats in each group.
