A DM model was established by feeding rats a high-fat diet and injecting them with a low dose of STZ. After the model was established, PEP (150, 300, and 600 mg/kg) was administered intragastrically as an intervention for 28 d. Blood samples from angular vein were collected to measure the FBG and FINS levels with the ELISA kit, and the ISI was calculated. The data are presented as the mean ± standard deviation ( rats).
