TEM images of fibrils formed from 80 M WT amylin in the presence or absence of inhibitor peptides. (a) WT amylin alone, (b) with 160 M Arg-1, (c) with 160 M Arg-2, and (d) with 160 M Mem-T. Aliquots were removed for TEM imaging 24 h after the fibrillization reactions were started. Reactions were carried out in 20 mM sodium phosphate (pH 7.4), 1% DMSO (v/v), at 37°C.
